When I moved into 38 I wanted light, space and a kitchen. I had previously been living in 52, so I knew all about the disadvantages of trying to cook in what was effectively part of the hall. The front room was never used. It was dark and dull.
When Anthony told me to grab the bull by the horns and put the kitchen in the front of the house my friends and family reacted badly. I would lose a room. But I trusted him and the result proved him right. Light floods the back room and at certain times of the day it reaches into the kitchen and touches my back as I stand at the sink.
I have space and flexibility to entertain. The outside continues as part of the inside. My garden is another room. Even when it rains, my mood is not dampened.
